Roger Gerson

Roger Gerson is Director, Advanced Electrification Technologies, reporting to Cummins Corporate Research & Technology, bridging advanced technology development and scalable solutions. Roger’s scope of responsibility at Cummins includes technologies in batteries, controls, power electronics, and rotating electric machines. He led the technology lane for Cummins in their partnership to create Amplify Cell Technologies, a joint venture company with Paccar, Daimler, and EVE. He’s been involved in vehicle electrification development, beginning with industrial automated guided vehicles in the 1990’s, light electric vehicles in 2000’s and heavy commercial electric vehicles upon joining Cummins in 2017. Roger has worked through the evolution of vehicle battery technologies from NiCd to NiMH to Li-ion. At Cummins Roger has led battery technology development supporting product development teams and serial production launches for their transit bus and school bus battery products. Roger earned a BS-EE from Northwestern University, and an MS-Mfg.-Eng. from Boston University.
