Company Synopsis
South32 is a globally diversified mining and metals company producing bauxite, alumina, aluminium, metallurgical coal, manganese, nickel, silver, lead and zinc in Australia, Southern Africa and South America. In 2018, South32 acquired the Hermosa project in Arizona, comprising the zinc-lead-silver Taylor deposit and the zinc-manganese-silver Clark deposit. A study for the Clark deposit is evaluating the potential to produce a manganese product used in electric vehicle batteries.
