Professional Bio
Over 30 years of lithium-ion industry experience. Work has mainly focused on cell and cathode material process development for new product launch and technical team leadership. Career began at Valence Technology, in the mid-1990’s, working on plasticized electrodes and material development for the first commercially launched lithium iron phosphate products. From 2005-15 he served as the Director of Advanced Manufacturing at Johnson Controls, on the launch of their high-volume cell manufacturing factory for automotive applications (HEV and PHEV) in Holland Michigan. Additionally, work with semi-solid manufacturing development in collaboration with 24m Technologies. From 2022-24 led the Battery Development team at Ionic Materials. Currently I consult to battery industry companies for lithium iron phosphate development and as a Board Advisor for high-volume cell manufacturing.
